once i tried to say hi
but i was really embarrassing
and i havent tried since
i may just be scary and weird to you

im really tall and i think
my voice is lower than all your friends
im kind of a gremlin
and i hope one day you talk to me cause im way too scared to try talking to you again

i got an inkling that
your spiritual sense may be
very close to mine
the way you talk of demons and the basement shows that they always throw
how youve wrestled your own shadow
and those of people even taller than you
the frequent train rides into black holes and out again
in again

im slimy and gruff
in the unattractive way
kind of a gremlin
the kind that folks wish wasn’t gay

im three wheels from a big car wreck
where the fourth was stolen by some kid
really just kind of a gremlin
but i still think your really cool and kinda really cute but really who doesn’t think that

time to have an original thought
