bc this track is about how i struggle speaking my own language all of my vocal dyslexic errors are left intact
lyrics
since we evolved to have a voice and learned to communicate with it
many ways of doing so have developed
many languages, secret, widepread, derivative of common structures, even nonvocal ones have appeared and driven the progress of cultures for thousands of years. most have very linear construction, and can, with some persistence, be easily understood, this leads many us to move through life, knowing the language of many parts of the world
one language has sought to dominate this planet for centuries, to make everyone living, and anyone who ever lived, to speak it. it is, or at the very least it seems to be, one of the hardest languages for non native speakers to learn. its always fluctuating, always being deconstructed, reconstructed, reinterpereted, and shapen into many dialects. how one person says one thing, another person could say in an entirely different way.
im still learning english
even though ive spoken it
my whole life
my whole life
ive been kept from learning other
languages
as fluidly
unless theyre also
european
what was the
true tongue
i started with
im still learning english
its such a shifty language
im called a native speaker
but even then it gets away
they say that i dont say things right
for me its not the word but its the sound
the guttural meaning
that im trying to speak out
im still learning english
theres always a new word that
i dont know how to say
until i learn its actually french because
all english just steals things
very little is organic
thats how you know its english
and why we all are forced to learn it

continuing from FIYH, this is blackpilled as all fuck; written and delivered with the raw candidness and self-mocking bitterness of a high-schoolers journal, and set to beats that are laser-focused to keep my distractable mind topped up on angry dopamine. A tight 21 minutes of weaponised disgust. Tom Colquhoun

Each line on this album is delivered with malice, and each word hits like a mace to the skull. Backxwash uses raw aggression to vent frustration and anguish in a way that evokes an anger with the world rather than a pity for her. Luke Warmwater
